Jill Robb Ackerman represents individuals and businesses in complex business litigation in federal and state courts and arbitration proceedings, corporate disputes, negligence actions, copyright, trademark, unfair competition, technology and Title IX.  She is a speaker on the protection of the attorney-client privilege, cyber security, electronic discovery,  the protection of trademarks and trade secrets and Title IX.

Jill is listed in Great Plains Super Lawyers (Top List), Benchmark Litigation, and in Chambers USA for her work in intellectual property litigation and business litigation. She has been recognized on the Top 10 Super Lawyers List in 2012-2013, and 2016-2019. She has been recognized in the Top 250 Women in Litigation (© Benchmark Litigation). Since 2003, Jill has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®. Jill was selected as Best Lawyers’ Omaha Copyright Law Lawyer of the Year in 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020, and 2023. She was also named Best Lawyers’ Omaha Litigation – Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year in 2013, 2015, 2022, and 2023.

In 2012, Jill was appointed by Governor Dave Heineman as a Commissioner for the Commission on Uniform State Laws and served for two years. In addition, she served as President of the Nebraska State Bar Association, is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association’s Executive Council and is a former member of the Nebraska State Bar Association’s House of Delegates. She also chaired its Judiciary Committee for two years. Jill is a member of the American Bar Association, its Litigation Section, Committee on Intellectual Property Litigation, and Business Law Section. She is the former Chairperson of the Federal Practice Committee, and has served on the Federal Advisory Committee for the Eighth Circuit. Additionally, Jill is a Fellow of the Nebraska Bar Foundation and American Bar Foundation. She is also a charter member of the Robert Spire Inn of Court and taught Trial Advocacy at Creighton University School of Law.

Jill served as law clerk to the Honorable C. Arlen Beam of the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska from 1984 through 1986.
